Kadant Black Clawson Awarded Deink Line Expansion of Papel San Francisco

LEBANON, Ohio, November 19, 2019 – Kadant Black Clawson LLC, a subsidiary of Kadant Inc. (NYSE: KAI), announced it received an order from Papel San Francisco to supply a complete stock preparation and deinking line for its new tissue production line at its Mexicali, Mexico facility.

As part of this expansion project, Papel San Francisco required a sustainable, highly-flexible solution with the ability to expand production while maintaining the high quality of the finished product. Additionally, this system needed to process what is anticipated to be increased levels of furnish contamination from the market going forward.

According to Dario Palma, Director of Operations at Papel San Francisco, “The high efficiency solution from Kadant will support our growing production goals and enable us to get the very best in an increasingly challenging market environment.”

The mill concluded Kadant Black Clawson’s Foundations™ fiber processing solution, which includes end-to-end recycling and de-inking fiber processing, was the preferred solution to meet its performance targets.

Papel San Francisco has provided the consumer and commercial markets with top-quality personal care paper products for more than 35 years. It has a long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability, producing products made with the least amount of natural resources possible, and employing energy-saving production processes.

Kadant Black Clawson’s fiber processing solution was developed with careful consideration of the unique demands of the application and the goal for creating a more sustainable, profitable process. It includes our innovative robust Heli-Drum pulping and detrasking system as well as coarse, fine, and approach flow screening.
