Over-the-Shaft Rotary Unions
Over-the-shaft (OTS) rotary unions are used with roll journals that contain internal passages and require fluid conveyance through the journal into the roll. An OTS rotary union seals around the journal and transfers fluid in and out of the passages as the journal rotates.
OTS rotary joints are most common in applications where the fluid conveyance occurs at the same end as the drive system. The number of inlet and outlet ports on an OTS rotary joint and the seal technologies used are matched to the roll journal and application. OTS rotary unions can be custom-engineered for any journal size and performance requirements to supply water, steam, air, or other fluids.
