Kadant Solutions Division recently hosted the Tissue and MG Machine Optimization Clinic where participants had the opportunity to learn best-in-class practices from various process experts and identify new ways of viewing Yankee dryer optimization.

The one-day clinic attracted a diverse group of tissue mills from across the US. Topics covered included basic concepts of creping blades, Yankee doctor set up and operation, cleaning and conditioning of the fabric, improving doctor vibration monitoring, Yankee dryer steam and condensate systems, proper dewatering of suction pressure rolls, and energy and fiber recovery.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive and the interactions among participants and presenters provided an opportunity for idea exchange and new insights. Some specific comments taken from the post-clinic survey included:
