Papercon 2014 Coming to Nashville
Started in 2008 and organized by TAPPI, PaperCon is the largest annual pulp and paper technical program in the world. This year PaperCon is coming to the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. The theme “In Tune for Sustainability, Agility, and Profitability” sets the stage for the program topics and speakers. Keynote speakers include Jim Abbott, former major league pitcher, and Dan Malenke, president of PKPRO.
PaperCon has programs and events for anyone interested in the paper industry. The lineup will include a New Technology Showcase, Hot Topic Breakfasts, Young Professionals and Students, Papermaking sessions, as well as Coating and Graphic Arts sessions. Co-located programs include a Tissue360 forum, RPTA seminar, NETInc technical conference, and OpEx Reliability Workshop. There will be a golf tournament to support the PIMA scholarship fund and for those runners of the paper industry a 5K runnability walk/run will occur to raise scholarship funds for students in the pulp and paper science and technology programs.
The PaperCon exhibition will include over 150 vendors and OEMs that provide services and products to the pulp and paper industry. Kadant will again participate as an exhibitor and sponsor of this event. We will showcase products and services that positively impact a papermakers operation from stock preparation to doctoring, cleaning, and filtration to rotary joints, dryer systems, and steam management systems. Papers will also be presented on whitewater system improvements and on dryer section rebuilds.
