Kadant Participates in Tissue 2017 Conference & Expo
Last week tissue makers from around the world visited the first tissue conference co-produced by TAPPI and RISI in Miami, Florida. The Tissue 2017 Conference & Expo provided a unique experience for attendees with a wealth of educational forums with topics ranging from market developments and manufacturing innovations, to strategic market insights.
Four of Kadant’s own presented including Best Practices for Tissue Mill White Water Reuse by Dave McGowan, Holes in Sheet Caused by Stickies- Forming Fabric Cleaning and Conditioning by Marcelo DeBoni, Examining Yankee Health by Understanding Doctor Blade Wear by Jack Allen, and Yankee Steam and Condensate Systems by Mike Soucy.
During the exhibition, Kadant emphasized the new Yankee Safe™ program consisting of product and services developed to protect the Yankee throughout its life cycle. One product line included in the Yankee Safe program is CeraEdge™ creping blades. CeraEdge creping blades have a unique ceramic tip making for a higher quality and more efficient production process.
The Conformatic AL™ blade holder was also presented as part of the Yankee Safe program. The Conformatic AL blade holder is the next generation in the Conformatic family of products. Significant upgrades to the holder’s adjustability were achieved with a proprietary adjustment mechanism allowing for precise control of the holder profile without the need for edge fingers.
The Yankee Safe program includes services such as blade wear measurement and vibration monitoring. Kadant has designed a new tool called the Blade View™ measurement device that digitally analyzes blade wear. Kadant Regional Area Managers are trained to provide this service.
